His ability to work through those difficult projects and develop new ways to achieve our targets was always inspiring. He is an outstanding mentor and leads by example. He is also innovative, organized and is always open to ideas and suggestions. John's management style empowers his team members to own their own projects and encourages autonomy. He gets out of the way and lets us do what we do best... design! He does a great job of protecting the design team from exterior distractions which allows us to do our job better. He has helped me improve in many professional areas and taught me about leadership skills. Not only is he passionate about the product but he is passionate about the team and it shows. Julian Green
John is extremely talented and great to work with. He is the best designer l've seen for startups in that his broad skills make him very effective. He goes all the way from understanding user needs and creating a product identity to turning that into beautiful designs, and then prototyping and implementing those designs, since he can do html, css, java-script etc. This is invaluable since it means that he can work directly with engineers or product people to make good stuff happen really really fast. I also worked with him at eBay where he was able to get stuff to happen fast in a large organization.

lohn is one of the most talented people I've ever met... and I've met (and hired) alot of them. But with that level of talent often comes a mercurial nature and a thin skin. John is the very opposite of that type. He's loyal, indefatigable, and professional. Very few people today have the work ethic that John has. As his boss, I could never push him harder than he pushed himself. His work is spectacular in every dimension. Someday, we'll all be working for him. :-)
